Dr. K. M. C. Konthesingha Appointed as the New Dean of the Faculty of Engineering

Dr. K. M. C. Konthesingha was appointed as the new dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, with effect from 15th July 2019.

INNOVATE SRI LANKA 2019 Gold and Silver Awards for the Faculty of Engineering

Gold and Silver awards for the best inventions of the year at the exhibition INNOVATE SRI LANKA 2019 were won for exhibits designed by the students and the staff of the Faculty of Engineering.

Mid Semester Examinations from 22nd May 2019

Mid Semester examinations for the 1st year students (batch 2017/18) will commence from the 22nd of May onwards. Hostels for 1st year students will open from the 21st of May. Mid semester exams for the remaining batches will commence from the 27th of May onwards.

Due to the security measures in place to ensure your safety, please be kind enough to arrive at least 30 minutes in advance for the mid semester examination and fully corporate with the security personnel.

Academic Activities Temporarily Suspended

According to a decision taken by the University Grants Commission, all academic activities are temporarily suspended due to the current security situation of the Country.

Japura Researchers Honored at the Research Awards 2017

At the Research Awards Ceremony – 2017 of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized by the Research Council of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura a large number of academic members were honored for their contribution in publishing research at national/international conferences, peer-reviewed/indexed journals and conducting high-quality researches.

This Research Award system was conducted through 10 categories where eligible candidates were given monetary awards and certificates. The researcher having the highest h index was awarded a special prize at faculty level, the Early Career Researcher Awards was awarded to the Best Researcher less than 40 years and Vice Chancellor’s Award was awarded to the Best Researcher of the University following a stringent selection process.

Arduino Workshop for First Year Students

Arduino is an open source platform which is used to build electronics projects. The knowledge on Arduino is important for an engineering undergraduates to develop skills in electronic and automation as well as carrying out creative and novel ideas.

Accordingly, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully conducted an "Arduino Workshop" for the first year undergraduates in order to give them a basic introduction on Arduino.
