Arduino Workshop for First Year Students

Arduino is an open source platform which is used to build electronics projects. The knowledge on Arduino is important for an engineering undergraduates to develop skills in electronic and automation as well as carrying out creative and novel ideas.

Accordingly, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully conducted an "Arduino Workshop" for the first year undergraduates in order to give them a basic introduction on Arduino.

The projects, which were demonstrated to the students during the workshop to establish the basic idea includes,

1. Motor controller with L298 DC motor driver
2. LED running light system
3. Driving a Robot Chassis using Arduino and controlling the speed of the motors using potentiometer
4. Burglar detection system using ultrasonic sensors, relays and a bulb
